Day 23

So I did another couple workouts since my last posting. Also, played plenty of ultimate. I have decided to increase the weight I am using for the kettlebells. It was rough, but satisfying. I am pushing myself more, now that my body is used to working out again. I expect that I will have opportunities to make things more difficult as I go.

Thus far I have lost 10 lbs since I started. Good progress, but I have a long way to go. I am looking forward to feeling lighter again. My knees are pissed at me these days. I have a winter league ultimate game tonight. Wish me luck.

Day 15

Worked out with Mallory today; workout #3. We did one called Monkey See. It was mostly ladder stuff. The workouts are getting easier fast. Can't wait to get to level 2. Weight after dinner was 249. Earlier in the week I hit 246, but I splurged the last couple of days. Played a lot of beach ultimate over the weekend, and that was not only super fun, but my recovery time was fast. Overall conditioning is improving, I expect that the weight will go down now since I don't have a house full of exciting visitors who like eating good food.

On a different note, coconut water is an amazing rehydrator. I highly recommend it for athletes.

5 days in

Since day 1, ive played some winter league ultimate and completed another kettlebell workout. This one was called Bells of Fury. I found this to be slightly challenging, but too short. I will continue down the path I am currently on, but I look forward to the level 2 cards.

The first workout followed by winter league wrecked me. I was sore for 3 days. I attribute some of this to my conditioning and some to the fact that I always work hard. I tend to push myself beyond what I should be doing. It's a bad idea as your form suffers and you could hurt yourself. I tried to keep that in mind today and actually went down in weight during my workout today when I noticed my form sucking.

I forgot to mention that when I weighed in on day 1 I was at 258 and today I weighed in at 250. The first few pounds are the easiest. I drop that kind of weight during a week on a regular basis. Now comes the grind.
I want to lose the weight for a specific reason. Most people are obsessed with the weight number. I never have been until recently. I have had three surgeries on my left knee. The less weight it carries, the longer it will last into my life. So, my knee doctor said to get down to 225, and that is what I am shooting for.

A New Approach

So I've been gone for a while obviously. I am trying a set of workouts from kettlebellcafe.com that seem to be a good progression of difficulties. I will be posting regularly about how its going. Today I started with a workout called Torturous 200. This workout basically showed me how out of shape I was. I had to switch from my 45 lbs kettlebell to 30 lbs.
